Desi Local Badminton Tournament a smash hit!
The Desi Locals(Telugu community people at Greater London region) hosted its 1st Inaugural Badminton Tournament on 27th August 2011 with more than 16 players from across the Middlesex, Greater London region entering the men’s doubles matches.
The event was organised by group of Telugu community people Siva, Kishore, Anil, Ravikanth and Naveen as a friendly bank holiday event.
The tournament was very competitive with some very close matches in the group stages. Winners were chosen from the best-of-three match final. The winners of the Men’s doubles were Sudhakar and Prasanna with the runners up Bharath and Kishore.
Masters Aditya Mulpuri and Bhavna Chowdary presented the mementos to both Winners team and Runners up team.
Organisers vowed to conduct a big tournament during Christmas period this year.
