BMW India launched the 2011 BMW 6 Series 650i Convertible for the Indian market. The launch event was held at Udaipur. The BMW 6 series has been priced at Rs 95 lakh (ex-showroom). 

The 6-series convertible is powered by a twin-turbocharged 4.4-litre, V8 belting out 400 hp of maximum power at 6,400 rpm and 610 Nm of maximum torque at 1,750 – 4,000 rpm. It has an 8-speed automatic or 6-speed manual transmission. 

The 6-series convertible accelerates from 0 – 100 km/hr in just 5 seconds and the top speed reaches up to 249 km/hr. 

BMW India has been the No. 1 car maker for the past two years and is confident of retaining no. 1 position in luxury car segment in India for the third time. To increase its popularity, BMW has planned to launch new models to attract the customers. 

The BMW X3 will be launched by mid 2011 and will be assembled in the Chennai plant. To increase its base in India, BMW will expand dealerships from 20 to 40 by 2012 in major metros.
