Smart phones, the quickest mode of communication and access, carry on some drawbacks in spite of being the most popular and highly used device of the networking sector.

Smart phones are generally termed for the phones, which provide more advanced user facilities in computation and communication. Its antonym is ‘feature phone’ which refers to low-end devices though there is no official definition to distinguish the two categories.

Here are some reasons why one should not use Smart phones –

1. Too expensive

 As these device contain higher resolution screens, better cameras, increased storage capabilities etc. the market price of the machine automatically becomes high. Adding to that, most of the cell phone providers require buyers to sign long-term contracts and Internet access is provided at an additional cost. All these costs raise the cost of owning a smart phone too high.

2. Not easy to use

Smart phones have complex features. It is just like a computer quiet tough in operation. One needs huge knowledge of computer to operate these phones. So this option cannot be preferred by the non-technical people.

3. Limitation to Website access

 As all websites are not WAP enabled some sites are not available in the smart phones. Also, even if the site is visible till images may not appear and scrolling the entire web page can become tiresome due to the small screen size. It also triggers eye sight problems.

4. Typing problem in the keyboards of smart phone

 As the keyboard of a smart phone is a small one and the keys are too close to each other people having larger hands face much difficulty to type in it. In fact, in spite of all your effort and care you cannot type speedily in this device as compared to a PC.

5. Kills time from other required means of life

As the smart phones are small in size, light in weight and portable in view one can carry them at all times. Then the normal query instinct of human, forces him to be busy always with checking email, facebook and accessing other features, which actually takes his independence to live like a normal man.

6. Easy to be damaged

Smart phones are not waterproof, cannot be used with gloves in hand. Moreover, one needs to be too cautious to maintain it to keep it intact.

7. Consumes more battery charge

Using the GPS increases CPU load, keeps the screen on, and activates the GPS receiver demands more charge of battery. So always charging is also a tedious process.
