IPL fixing row: Won’t tolerate corruption, says BCCI

BCCI president N Srinivasan has said that the board won’t tolerate any kind of corruption in Indian cricket vowing to take strong action if it any founds any wrongdoings as claimed in a string operation.

“We will not tolerate any wrongdoing. At the same time we have to be certain what has happened. I do not have access to the footage.” Srinivasan told a TV channel.

"We will ensure that the integrity of the game is protected. BCCI believes in the integrity of the game. We will take the strictest possible action. We will have to have the tapes and the moment we see it, whoever is the player, we will take very very strict action," he said.

Earlier, a TV channel had claimed to have done a sting operation wherein cricketers had confessed on hidden camera they are paid more than their prescribed auction amount.

The channel has further claimed that spot-fixing is not only prevalent in IPL but also in first class cricket where matches are fixed and women played an important role in match-fixing.
