Jagan completes 50 days in jail

YSR Congress Party president and Lok Sabha member YS Jaganmohan Reddy completed 50 days in the Chanchalguda central prison as an undertrial after arrest in a disproportionate assets case.

In his 14th mulaqaat with his family members, the famous Qaidi No. 6093 met his wife YS Bharathi, and five others for 45 minutes from 11 am.

Apart from the two regular mulaqaats a week, he has nine special mulaqaats to meet some MPs and MLAs so far.

'On Tuesday Jagan utilised his first mulaqat of this week and can have one more. He will not be allowed any special mulaqaat if it is not important for government officials,'' said a jail official.

A convict can have two mulaqaats in 15 days and an undertrial two mulaqaats a week.

Many VIPs were sent back when they tried to meet Jagan in jail in the past. NDA presidential candidate PA Sangma could not get past the jail gates on June 25 when he went there to seek Jagan's support in the election.

On June 27, his uncle YS Vivekananda Reddy, along with five others including a pastor, went to the prison at 10:30 am and asked the officials for a 'mulaqaat' with him but his request was denied. He has made vain attempts a couple of times later to meet his nephew.
