Yogie supervising telugu version of Zanjeer

Telugu director Yogie (Yogesh Krishna Chandra Maganti) has been handpicked by Chiranjeevi to oversee the Telugu version of son Ram Charan's "Zanjeer" remake. The 1970 remake starring Amitabh Bachchan will be released simultaneously in Hindi and Telugu. From a list of top directors, Chiranjeevi chose Yogie to monitor the film and its related activities.

Yogie earlier directed "Oka Raju Oka Rani" starring Ravi Teja and Venkatesh-starrer "Chintakayala Ravi" and was associated with several Ram Gopal Varma movies. "Zanjeer" has recently wrapped up a major schedule in Bangkok and news floated that the leading cast had a blast on the sets. Ram Charan, Prakash Raj and Mahie Gill, who is playing the role of a seductress in this film, bonded well over some delicious Thai recipes.

Ram Charan is essaying the iconic role played by Amitabh Bachchan in the original version. And the new angry young man will romance Priyanka Chopra, who is reprising the role played by Jaya Bachchan. The film is directed by Apoorva Lakhi and produced by Amit Mehra.
