Jagan rules from jail

YSRC chief has quit worrying and begun ruling his party from prison.

Finally, the YSR president YS Jaganmohan Reddy seems to have settled down in Chanchalguda jail and has begun governing his party from within its four walls.

Sources say he has assumed a positive attitude and charts out his party duties carefully with the ‘weekly mulaqat’ when he sorts out party matters with visiting leaders. He also selects the visitor list so that issues he has in mind can be thrashed out with them.

He is allowed three weekly visits, which he uses for party work. Sources point out that though his mother Vijayalak-shmi is holding fort, important decisions are left to him. One important decision he has taken is to reorganise district leadership. Konda Surekha who had given a tough fight to the TRS has been promoted to the highest decision-making body the Central Governing Council (CGC).

Jagan has also decided to replace West Godavari district convener K Mohsen Raju with Balaraju from Polavaram constituency. Even the recent dharna to support weavers’ cause in Sircilla was Jagan’s decision, sources said.

Party leader Bajireddy Govardhan said all crucial decisions have Jagan’s stamp. “We don’t take decisions without his approval,” he said.
